Η εικαστικός Μυρτώ Βουνάτσου έχει ως κύριο πεδίο της έρευνας της τις βίντεο-εγκαταστάσεις, την βίντεο/ψηφιακή τέχνη & τα new media arts (διαδραστικά και AR). Το 1998-2000 έκανε μεταπτυχιακές σπουδές στις Ψηφιακές Μορφές Τέχνης στο διατμηματικό μεταπτυχιακό Τμήμα της Α.Σ.Κ.Τ. και του Ε.Μ.Π. Αθηνών. Είναι αριστούχος πτυχιούχος του τμήματος Ζωγραφικής της Α.Σ.Κ.Τ. Αθηνών (1992-1998 με τον Καθ. Ν. Κεσσανλή) και του Παιδαγωγικού τμήματος του Α.Π.Θ (1987-1991). Φοίτησε στο τμήμα Οπτικής Επικοινωνίας της Σ.Κ.Τ. Βερολίνου (με την Καθ. M. Wedder) &  παρακολούθησε μαθήματα στο Παν/μιο της Κεντρικής Αγγλίας του Bermingham στο Τμήμα του Hogeschool Rotterdam & Omstreken στην Ολλανδία (1999). Από το 2003-2022 εργάστηκε ως Συνεργάτης στο Προπτυχιακό και Μεταπτυχιακό Πρόγραμμα Σπουδών “Παραγωγή Βίντεο, Οπτικοακουστικά Μέσα και Κινούμενα Γραφικά” του Τμήματος Φωτογραφίας και Οπτικοακουστικών Τεχνών του Πανεπιστημίου Δυτικής Αττικής. Από το 2022 εργάζεται ωε Επίκουρη καθηγήτρια στο ίδιο Τμήμα. Έχει συμμετάσχει σε επιστημονικά συνέδρια και διατελέσει επιστημονική υπεύθυνη και επιστημονική συνεργάτης σε πολλά ερευνητικά προγράμματα με γνωστικό αντικείμενο τις Νέες Ψηφιακές μορφές Τέχνης και το εικαστικό βίντεο. 

Myrto Vounatsou is a visual artist who works on the field of video-installations, video/digital and new media arts (interactive media and AR) as means of expressing her ideas. She received her BFA (Hons) in Painting from the Athens School of Fine Arts (1992-1998 Studio Prof. N. Kessanlis) & BA (Hons) in Educational Studies from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. She has a MFA (Hons) in Digital Arts from the Interdisciplinary workshop ASFA and the National Technical University of Athens (1998 -2000). She studied Visual Communication in the Department of Design (studio prof. M. Wedder) in Hochschule Der Kunst in Berlin & attended classes on the field of Art/Creative Therapy at the University of Central England in Bermingham- Dep. at Hogeschool Rotterdam & Omstreken in Nederlands. 2003-2022 she worked as Under Contract Teaching Staff in Photography & Audiovisual Arts Department, University of West Attica. Since 2022 is working as Assistant Prof. in the same Department. She has participated in scientific conferences and served as scientific coordinator in many research projects in the field of New Media Arts and Video. She has many solo exhibitions and has participated in a number of group exhibitions in Greece and abroad. She has been excelled and honored with prizes in many festivals for her film productions (video arts, video and mapping installations and educational documentaries). There are citations on her work by critics, art historians and journalists. Her works have been published in many directories and catalogues and some of them currently are in private collections.
